Last Thursday Ezra Furman wowed the crowd while playing 1st Ward at Chop Shop with his band the Boy-Friends. Having missed him perform his New Years Eve show at Lincoln Hall, I was happily surprised that he was playing again in Chicago so soon. The Chicago band NE-HI sold out the Empty Bottle on Friday for the release show of their latest album Offers. Having had played a show earlier in the day at Shuga Records, they did not show any exhaustion from it with their energy on stage being palpable. On January 28th Cherry Glazerr played a sold out show at Subterranean. The all-ages crowd brought a youthful energy to the show with their love of music, and excitement for not only the headliner but the openers as well. On February 4th Cate Le Bon graced Chicago with a performance at Lincoln Hall. This show was a real treat and a unique experience.
