Radiohead announce 2018 summer tour

Surprise! Radiohead is heading back out on tour. The band revealed dates for a summer tour last week and the best part is, it all kicks off with two shows in Chicago. The tour starts July 6 – 7 in Chicago at the United Center and wraps up with two shows in Philadelphia on July 31 and August 1. Tickets are on sale now, so get yours while you still can. Something tells us tickets won’t stick around long. Check out all the dates here.

The tour is in support of Radiohead’s ninth album, A Moon Shaped Pool, which dropped in 2016. Since then, each of the members have been working on their own projects. Johnny Greenwood recently scored films for Paul Thomas Anderson’s Phantom Thread and the upcoming You Were Never Really Here starring Joaquin Phoenix. Frontman Thom Yorke is also working on a film score for the Suspiria remake.

Sade releases first new song in seven years for A Wrinkle in Time soundtrack

Sade is back with her first new song in seven years. We can’t believe it’s been that long! The track entitled “Flower of the Universe” is the singer’s contribution to the A Wrinkle in Time soundtrack. This marks her first new material since the release of her 2011 greatest hits album The Ultimate Collection, which featured four unreleased songs.

Director Ava DuVernay spoke about Sade’s contribution on Twitter saying:

“I never thought she’d say yes, but asked anyway. She was kind + giving. A goddess. We began a journey together that I’ll never forget. Proud to announce that Sade has created an original song for WRINKLE IN TIME. It’s entitled “Flower of the Universe.” And it’s a dream come true.” pic.twitter.com/FdXrZ1MFMO

Also featured on the soundtrack are Sia, Demi Lovato, Chloe + Hall, and DJ Khaled. A Wrinkle in Time and the OST come out March 9.

Kesha postpones tour dates due to ACL injury

Kesha revealed last week that a handful of upcoming tour dates have to be postponed. The update comes after the singer tore her ACL during a show in Dubai earlier this month. This means the shows originally scheduled to take place across Japan, New Zealand, Australia, and Taiwan during March and April are being put on hold. These dates are expected to be rescheduled.

In a statement regarding the news, Kesha said “It’s my biggest joy in life to share my music with my fans all over the world, but I have to follow my doctors orders and undergo surgery so I can get ready to give it my all on my summer tour and beyond. Moving these dates is making me sick with sadness, but I tried to will this injury away and unfortunately it didn’t work. I love you all and I’ll work every single day, as hard as I can, to recover and get back on stage as soon as possible. I’m so sorry and sending love always.”

Her co-headlining tour with Macklemore set to start June 6 in Phoenix will continue as planned. Check out the dates here.

Chicago Artist Spotlight: KayCee Shakur

Chicago native KayCee Shakur is just hitting the music scene, but she sounds wise beyond her years on debut single “Slide.” Shakur started performing in the theater before moving on to creating her own music. Earlier this month she released her debut single “Slide,” a sultry slow jam that makes you want to turn out the lights and grab that special someone. Check out the song above.

This is only the beginning for Shakur. She’s currently working on her debut EP, Divination, which comes out Spring 2018. Hopefully, we’ll get to hear music from her before then. Make sure to check out “Slide” on her SoundCloud and follow her on Twitter for the latest updates.
