Marilyn Manson drops new single and album information
A week after giving fans an explanation for the delay in new music, Marilyn Manson has finally delivered. On September 11, the band debuted their new single “We Know Where You Fucking Live” on Zane Lowe’s radio show on Apple Beats 1. Manson later released a NSFW music video, which you can watch above.
Manson also revealed details regarding his upcoming album, Heaven Upside Down, which has a release date of October 6. Pre-order bundles are already up and running; check them out here. In support of the LP, Manson will also head out on a North American tour starting September 27 in Silver Springs, MD. The rocker will play Chicago’s Riviera Theater October 10. Tickets are on sale now. It was a long wait to get to this point. Let’s hope it was worth it.

Bruno Mars gets his first primetime TV special
Bruno Mars is getting ready to hit the small screen in a big way. Last week, he booked his first primetime television special for fall. Dubbed Bruno Mars: 24K Magic Live at the Apollo, the singer will perform at Harlem’s iconic Apollo Theater. The concert will air on CBS November 29. Along with the show, the special will feature footage of Mars walking through Harlem “visiting, singing and entertaining locals in exciting, intimate, must-see moments.” It promises to be a memorable event for fans.
Mars serves as executive producer for the special along with Ben Winston. “For me, Bruno Mars is the greatest performer in the world,” Winston said in a statement. “To be producing his first television special is a true honor. This will be a special show and a special night.” We’ll be watching, will you?
Grant Hart, singer/drummer for Husker Du, dies at 56
Grant Hart, singer and drummer for punk icons Husker Du, died September 14. He was 56 years old. Reports suggest Hart was battling cancer up until his death. Husker Du guitarist and vocalist Bob Mould confirmed the news on Facebook along with a heartfelt tribute:
“The tragic news of Grant’s passing was not unexpected to me. My deepest condolences and thoughts to Grant’s family, friends, and fans around the world. Grant Hart was a gifted visual artist, a wonderful story teller, and a frighteningly talented musician. Everyone touched by his spirit will always remember.
Godspeed, Grant. I miss you. Be with the angels.”

Though Husker Du wasn’t around very long, the music they made together inspired others to start their own bands. Hart’s work is unforgettable and he will surely be missed.

Chicago Artist Spotlight: Romancoke

Hailing from Chicago neighborhood Pilsen, Romancoke is a band formed by local multi-instrumentalist Pawky Maven and musician MildMannerMan aka Adam Smith. Refusing to be put in a box, the band blends a variety of music genres from folk rock to indie and even shoegazer. The result is a sound that’s mellow with some rough edges. They proudly list their influences as the Beatles, Elliot Smith, and Prince.
Right now, the band is currently working on their new album, which should be out this fall. The album will be a collection of re-releases Pawky Maven songs along with new material. For now, you can check out live clips of their songs on their Youtube channel. Check out “We’re Okay” above.
