On the Radar: Kendrick Lamar Re-releases ‘DAMN,’ Artist Spotlight Austin Poe and Concerts

Were you too busy Christmas shopping to keep up with music news? Don’t worry because On the Radar has you covered! Check out the latest below.

Kendrick Lamar releases collector’s edition of DAMN. with reversed tracklist

If you can’t get enough of one of this year’s hottest albums then you’re in luck. Kendrick Lamar released a collector’s edition of DAMN.

Along with some new artwork, the record presents its songs in reverse order meaning “DUCKWORTH” now opens the album and “BLOOD” closes it. The album is also four minutes longer than the original release. Perhaps this is due to an unannounced guest verse? We’ll have to wait and see. The collector’s edition of DAMN. is available digitally, but hopefully, details of a proper release will drop soon.

Eminem reveals tracklist and guests for upcoming album

We are only a few days away from Eminem’s new album. To get pumped up for its release, last week Em dropped the tracklist. Revival will feature 19 songs and boast a number of guest appearances. Along with Beyonce, the record features Ed Sheeran, X Ambassadors, Pink, Alicia Keys, Skylar Grey and Kehlani. Pink and Grey have worked with the rapper before several times, but for the other guest stars, this marks their first time working with Eminem. It’s a bit weird as Consequence of Sound points out since 20 years ago he would’ve made fun of most of these artists. Is it a sign of maturity or just getting soft?

Revival comes out December 15. See the complete tracklist here and listen to its lead single, “Walk on Water,” above You can check out the newly released “Untouchable” here.

Bullet For My Valentine part ways with Michael ‘Moose’ Thomas

Looks like Bullet For My Valentine is down another original member. Last week, the Welsh metallers revealed that drummer Jason Bowld is now a full-time member. Bowld took over for Michael “Moose” Thomas last year. The drummer opted out of the band’s upcoming tour to spend time with his wife and their newborn baby.

The band posted the announcement on Facebook saying “We’d like to officially welcome Jason to Bullet For My Valentine as our permanent drummer. Since initially filling in for Moose in 2015, Jase has cemented himself as an integral member of the Bullet family, and you guys are going to be blown away with what he’s brought to the new record.” Read their entire statement here.

Thomas posted his own statement on Twitter thanking the fans and assuring them he’s not done with music. Let’s hope that turns out to be true.

Chicago Artist Spotlight: Austin Poe

Formerly known as E-Money, Chicago rapper Austin Poe set out to start fresh this year. Over the summer he dropped the video for his new single “Soul Flow” hoping to pass along positive vibes to anyone who would listen. Now, the rapper is back with another hot track. Dubbed “Picture Me Rollin’” the video, directed by ShooterClub LA, pays homage to Tupac’s All Eyez On Me track of the same name. Check it out above.

When asked about the video by Respect Magazine, Poe said “I just wanted to tell people to keep your vision strong when you on your journey and chasing your goals. If you’re keeping dope energy around you, you can make it happen. Mindset is a powerful thing, so catch these vibes and enjoy the ride.”

So far the rapper hasn’t mentioned anything about an album, but hopefully, he’ll give us something good in the new year.
