Chicago’s own John “JmaC” McCarten aka Manic Focus dropped some big news yesterday (Feb. 24). The electronic music producer announced a new album, Minds Rising, ready to drop April 21. This not only marks McCarten’s fifth studio album but also his follow-up to 2014’s Cerebral Eclipse. Luckily, we didn’t have to wait to hear a taste of the new record. Along with the announcement, Manic Focus also released the first lead single dubbed “Stronger” featuring Late Night Radio, Jennifer Hartswick, and Adam Deitch. Check out the single for yourself here. You can also hear it on Apple Music and iTunes.

Manic Focus is currently on the road for the Minds Rising Tour. His next show is March 2 in Duluth, MN. While he won’t be playing in Chicago, he will play in Urbana, IL on April 28 and Chillicothe, IL on May 25 – 28 for Summer Camp. Tickets are on sale now.
