Judging from the sold-out crowd at Schubas Wednesday (Jun. 14) night, you wouldn’t guess that singer/songwriter Jessie Reyez only recently dropped her first EP, Kiddo. With passion driving her, she belted out tracks like “Figures,” “Shutter Island,” and the powerful “Gatekeeper.” It didn’t take long for the crowd to join her leading to a mass sing-a-along that continued throughout the night. Reyez commanded the stage filling the night with dancing and with sentimentality whenever she brought out her acoustic guitar. Seeing her passion, raw honesty, and drive live shows she’s one of the most promising new artists of the year.
