Billy Joel Returns to Wrigley With a Night Packed Full of Hits

When you see Billy Joel live, one thing is for certain, you aren’t going to hear rarities. This was his 6th show at Wrigley Field and he just kept pumping out the hits. You would have a hard time not being able to sing along even if you weren’t a big fan. The Piano Man is a true showman and he shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

The night was perfect and fans got to steer the set how they liked.  It was something that I have not seen before by other bands or acts. I was even surprised at some of the choices, being it was my first time seeing Billy.  I wasn’t expecting to see a song like “Just The Way You Are” get outvoted. The decades of music that he has put out shows that he is timeless among fans young and old.

The night was chalked full of fans dancing the night away while singing their hearts out. I wasn’t really able to hammer down what were the highlights of the night since it was just a non stop party. Hell even the covers that he threw into the setlist were such huge songs. We heard a pair of Beatles songs, one of my favorite Chicago songs, Led Zeppelin, and Giacomo Puccini. Even a casual fan would have a great time at a Billy Joel show.

The next time Billy Joel descends on Chicago you should make a concerted effort to go see him perform.  If you are a fan of music, this is a must! His music transcends and is a part of your life more than you ever realize. Kudos to Billy and his band.  You truly know how to throw a party at Wrigley!
