Yelawolf comes to Chicago on October 29th to play Thalia Hall. Special guests are Bubba Spraxx, Jellyroll, and Struggle Jennings.
From underground to mainstream, Yelawolf is one of the fastest rising stars in rap music. He self-released his debut album, Creekwater, in 2005. The rapper signed with Columbia Records two years later, after the release of his debut mixtape, Pissin’ in a Barrel of Beez. Just when it seemed like he would make it out on top, the planned LP Fearin’ and Loathin’ in Smalltown U.S.A., was never released. Because of this, the label dropped Yelawolf later that year. The Alabama rapper didn’t let the setback stop him.
Two more mixtapes followed Ball of Flames: The Ballad of Slick Rick E. Bobby and Stereo: A Hip Hop Tribute to Classic Rock. Though he kept releasing music, it wasn’t until his 2009 mixtape, Trunk Muzik, that he made a breakthrough. From there Yelawolf took off. He now has two successful albums with his newest, Trial By Fire, coming later this year.
