The Smashing Pumpkins + Liz Phair at Civic Opera House

Despite Billy Corgan’s attempts to end the band, the Smashing Pumpkins are still going strong even though Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlin are the sole remaining member. The band’s last album, Monuments to an Elegy, in 2014 as part of their Teargarden by Kaleidyscope project. The final album in the series is supposed to be coming this year. In 2015, Corgan and crew embarked on the brief Plainsong Tour. The tour was such a success fans craved more and Corgan decided to give it to them by extending the tour into this year. The electro-acoustic night features the Smashing Pumpkins and Liz Phair, who will open all shows. This tour marks the singer’s first in six years. Her last studio album was 2010’s Funstyle. Her critically acclaimed debut album Exit in Guyville was released 13 years ago and has sold over 400,000 copies.
