Seven Lions end The Journey Tour in Chicago to a sold out crowd at Concord Music Hall. Take from me it was a party that you didn’t want to miss.
With the help of opening acts like Unlike Pluto who has gained momentum this past year and was named one of Billboard Dance’s artist to watch in 2016 started the night with an energetic set and left the crowd excited for what was next to come from this young DJ.
Pegboard Nerds who had a short set followed Unlike Pluto with a set that was far more diverse than I have seen. They dropped tracks like “Superstar” featuring Chicago’s own Krewella to their latest hit “BAMF“. The crowd enjoyed the bass heavy tracks along with their more melodic tracks. For those wary of seeing them in the future… do it! You won’t be disappointed.
Jeff Montalvo, better known as Seven Lions, ended the night with a blend of trance, dubstep, techno, and electro. The tour is full tracks of his newly studio ep Creation, as well as some of his more notable tracks, including “Strangers” and “Don’t Leave“. The visuals that accompanied every track where a grand entertainment all by themselves. Pyramid shaped mountain peaks where laid across throughout the stage helped the more cinematic tracks bring the tracks to life. Seven Lions took the crowd on a epic journey from earth to intergalactic space and every where in between. The 90 minutes weren’t enough to experience the amount of hits Seven Lions have had. The Journey Tour is a trip through sight and sounds that needs to be experienced by anyone that is a Seven Lions fan. Looking forward to the return of Seven Lions to Chicago.
