Peaches to play Thalia Hall with TT the Artist

September 19, 2016
Merrill Beth Nisker

Catch one of music’s most creative and controversial musicians, Peaches, when she comes to town. She’ll be at Thalia Hall on September 19th. TT the Artist will also be playing.

Peaches’ music is hard to describe. It’s a little bit of punk, electro, hip-hop, and a lot of sleaze. She started her musical career back in the early 1990s. First she performed with the folk group Mermaid Cafe. When she eventually left the group, she released her first solo album, Fancypants Hoodlum, as Merrill Nisker. But she’s changed a lot since 1995. From there, she started to adapt her unique and highly sexualized image. She changed her name and brought out her new persona on her 2000 album The Teaches of Peaches. While the singer turned heads with her risqué video “Set it Off,” she also gained numerous fans. However, the video got her dropped from Sony. Peaches has since released four more albums. She released her latest, Rub, in 2015.
