PARTYNEXTDOOR + Jeremih Summer’s Over Tour Chicago

We here at Chicago Music wish we could say that Jeremih’s Tuesday night show, featuring PARTYNEXTDOOR, was mind blowing or awesome, but we can’t. If anything it’s memorable, but not for reasons Jeremih would be proud of. After performing only two songs, the rapper dropped the mic, and screamed “they some haters, fuck ya’ll!” before storming off stage. As you’d expect, the crowd was confused and upset. Jeremih took to Twitter the following day to explain his anger wasn’t directed at the crowd, but at the sound crew who apparently cut off his monitor.

“Chicago u know I love y’all ‘, I didn’t say “fuck y’all” I said “ah they some hatas! Fuck yalll! (to the sound people) that cut off my ears while performing,” he wrote on Twitter. “Truth is “they” didnt want me 2 perform tonight,” he continued. “It sad people will take ur money and blatantly make it seem like I only want to do 2 songs.

Either way, it was still pretty messed up and led to a disappointing evening. On a the bright side, PARTYNEXTDOOR properly fired up the crowd with hits like “High Hopes,” “Let’s Get Married,” and “Only U.” Hopefully, when Jeremih comes back to the city, he’ll have a better time performing.
