The Lumineers brought their folksy, upbeat music to the Chicago Theatre this week, while on tour in support of their new album, Cleopatra. The Lumineers, known for their indie-folk tunes that make everyone feel light on their feet, played a very happy show. Not only did the crowd at the Chicago Theatre dance along with the songs, they actually hopped and bounced. The group’s music is so joyful and light-hearted that you physically can’t resist bobbing around to the beat. Because the joy behind their music is so invigorating and infective, The Lumineers are the perfect group to see live in concert. Their shows might just be the secret to human happiness.
The Lumineers’ show transformed an ordinary evening into a night made of singing, dancing, and laughing. It was like something from a movie; when the band dropped confetti on the crowd it became even more film-like. You know when you’re in the car, looking out the window, and an intense song starts playing, and inside your head, you think to yourself “I look like a scene from a movie?” Well, The Lumineers show was like that, but much, much happier. It was like the end of a rom-com: beautiful, lovely, and fun.

The band played many songs from their new album, Cleopatra, but also brought back some old fan favorites. Of course, they also played popular classics like “Ho Hey.” But no matter what songs they played, the audience never stopped swaying, singing, and smiling. The night in one word: beautiful.
