King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard at Lincoln Hall

Some bands are comfortable with making the same music through their career. That’s not the case with Australia’s King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard. If you couldn’t guess from the name, this band isn’t easy to pin down. When they started back in 2010, they were a cut and dry garage rock band. By the time they released their debut album 12 Bar Blues in 2012, the band transformed and went for a more blues rock sound. As they continued releasing albums, such as Float Along. Fill Your Lungs (2013) and Quarters! (2015) the band shrugged off all labels and instead let their music guide them where they wanted to go next. They shift gears again on their latest album Nonagon Infinity, which vocalist Stu Mackenzie describes as a  “never-ending album” where each song is connected by musical motifs that flow into each other “linking straight back into the top of the opener like a sonic mobius strip.” The band will play Lincoln Hall to support the new album on May 8th. Opening acts include Running and The Murlocs.
