Ghostface Killah and Raekwon at Metro
August 5, 2016
Two of rap music’s iconic artists are getting together for the RAGU tour. Ghostface Killah and Raekwon will play Chicago’s Metro on August 5th. Special guests include G-B.A.L.L., Iron Rose, Freefam, Spirit, and Torrio Jetson.
Ghostface and Raekwon are better known for their work in the legendary rap outfit Wu-Tang Clan. After reaching breakthrough success with the group thanks to albums like Enter the Wu-Tang(36 Chambers), both rappers embarked on solo careers. Ghostface dropped his solo debut, Ironman, in 1996. It’s still one of his most successful albums and it reached number one on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop albums and number two on the Billboard 200. Since then Ghostface Killah dropped eleven albums, with his most recent being 2015’s Twelve Reasons to Die II.
Raekwon’s debut came a year earlier in 1995. Only Built 4 Cuban Linx… was a success debuting at number four on the Billboard 200 and number two on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart. Five more albums followed and his latest is 2015’s Fly International Luxurious Art. Neither of the rappers have announced new music, but with the new tour, we’ll hopefully get some good news.
