Florence and the Machine at Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre

June 12, 2016
Florence + the Machine, Florence Welch

Florence and the Machine took the music world by force with their 2009 debut Lungs. Though it was performing well overseas, it wouldn’t reach top status in the states until the band’s performance of “Dog Days Are Over” at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards. From there the album jumped from no. 44 to no. 14 on the Billboard 200. It would eventually reach no. 2 and 3 on Billboard’s Top Alternative Albums Chart and Top Rock Album Chart respectively. Their 2011 follow up, Ceremonials, proved to be even more successful reaching no. 6 on the Billboard 200. It’s the band’s unique approach to pop music that makes them so notable. It’s not just catchy and easy to dance; it ports you to another place and makes you feel so free. Catch them on June 12th when they play the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre.
