Kentucky rockers Cage the Elephant return to Chicago for a second time this year as part of 101WKQX’s The Night We Stole Christmas bash. Catch them with Catfish and the Bottlemen and Weathers at the Aragon Ballroom on December 2.
Cage the Elephant used to be rock music’s best kept secret. Now, they’re practically rock superstars. They’re four albums deep, their latest Tell Me I’m Pretty, came out last year, and they boast one of the most loyal fanbases. Though they garnered attention for their wild sound and thoughtful songs, they quickly became known for their stage shows. Frontman Matt Shultz bounces, jumps, and moves around the stage as if he can’t contain himself. And no matter if they’re playing in intimate clubs and stadiums, Shultz will always find a way to crowd surf. Ever since their start back in 2009, they’ve made a number of hit singles including, “Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked,” “Cigarette Daydreams,” “Come a Little Closer,” and “Mess Around.” Cage the Elephant may have changed throughout the years, but the one thing they keep intact is their wide-eyed ambition and passion for making music.
