Black Mountain rock band

Canadian rock band Black Mountain are having a pretty good year so far. They released their fourth studio album, IV, early in April and it’s been met with critical praise. The band, made up of Stephen McBean, Amber Webber, Matt Camirand, Jeremy Schmidt and Joshua Wells, having been turning heads ever since their 2005 self-titled debut. They’ve released three more albums since then, including 2010’s Wilderness, which was named as a longlist nominee for the 2011 Polaris Music Prize. Their previous album, 2008’s In the Future, was also nominated for the Polaris Music Prize for that year. Their blend of alternative rock with prog and even space rock is a hit with fans and critics alike. With their latest album they only get better and more in depth with their sound.

Black Mountain plays Chicago’s Lincoln Hall on May 12th with White Hills as the supporting act.
