This critically acclaimed San Francisco based rapper is coming back to Chicago with Rob Sonic and DJ Zone to play the Metro on June 3rd. The rapper has been going strong since the mid 90s and has released five solo albums, three EPs, and a 45 minute piece designed for runners for Nike between 1997 – 2007. He’s often praised for this lyrical play and unbelievable flow. His lyrics have even been published in the New York Times Best Seller Hip Hop Speaks to Children by Professor Nikki Giovanni (Oct. 2008), as well as Yale University’s Anthology of Rap (Nov. 2010). Aesop is also the co-founder of 900bats.com, a creative resource of arts, information, and oddities. The rapper released his seventh album The Impossible Kid this past April, which peaked at no. 2 on Billboard’s Independent Albums Chart.
