Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness, and Paavo Siljamäki are better known as English trance group Above & Beyond. They’re responsible for some of the hottest and irresistible electronic and trance music overseas. The trio started out as owners of London club labels Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep, but soon began DJ-ing on their own. Before releasing their debut album Tri-state in 2006, the trio began by remixing popular dance songs, such as Perpetuous Dreamer’s “The Sound of Goodbye,” and Adamski’s “In the City.” They even did a remix of Madonna’s “What It Feels Like for a Girl” in 2001. Above & Beyond have five albums under their belt, including their Acoustic II, which will be out June 3rd. Acoustic II has tracks featuring new arrangements of some of their biggest hits like “Alchemy” and “No One on Earth.” To promote the new album they’ll embark on the Above & Beyond Acoustic tour, which makes two stops in Chicago on May 11th and 12th at the Chicago Theater.
