For a band who has been together for the better part of 30 years, 311’s success has continuously grown throughout the years. Chicago has been no different over the years for their popularity. This summer, they will be once again performing at FirstMerit Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island with Matisyahu in support. Last year they took a break from playing at Northerly Island and switched over to playing indoors at Aragon Ballroom in July on the night of the Blue Album’s 20th Anniversary. That night fans were treated to the Blue Album being played in it’s entirety along with some rarities that fans have longed for.
In more recent years, 311 has honed their selections of setlists to the point of where they are much more diverse than in their earlier years as a band. You can go one a multi night/ multi venue stretch and see these guys really dive into their music catalog, which keeps the die hard fans thirsty for traveling to see them multiple times each year. Even if you haven’t seen these guys in a long time, Nick , SA, Tim, Chad, and P-Nut still put on a memorable show.
Also with Matisyahu opening up the night, this will surely be a night to remember. Matisyahu has been a long time friend of the band and has opened up for them over multiple years. His reggae rock style fits in perfectly with what 311 brings each and every night. Fans will be in for a great night come July.
Time: July 8th at 7:30pm
Tickets: Get’ Em
Venue: FirstMerit Bank Pavilion
And last year I covered 311’s show at Aragon Ballroom and was lucky enough to capture them while performing the Blue Album. That night was one of their better performances from what I have seen of them in the past. Here is the set of photos from last years extremely unique show!
